Performance test of EOLIS Air Manager: surface sanitisation
15 October 2024
The efficacy of the EOLIS Air Manager, our professional air purifier dedicated to complex health situations, in eliminating viruses and bacteria on surfaces has been tested by the independent French laboratory Eurofins according to the NF EN17272: 2020 standard.
The tests were conducted on two viruses and one bacterium:
- Murine Norovirus: Causes acute gastroenteritis, is extremely contagious due to its high infectivity at a low dose (10 to 100 viral particles are enough). Infection can be airborne or result from contact with a contaminated object.
- Adenovirus type 2: Causes respiratory infections. Infection can be airborne or result from contact with a contaminated object.
- Staphylococcus aureus: Responsible for food poisoning and localized infections. It is primarily transmitted through direct contact with a contaminated surface.
Activation of the active oxygen treatment (“Deep Clean” mode 2) allowed, within one hour, in a 50 m³ room to:
• reduce the number of viruses on surfaces by 99%
• reduce the number of bacteria on surfaces by 90%
The exclusive patented Deep Clean 60-minute function allows for a rapid and controlled diffusion of active oxygen throughout the room, enabling a quick cleaning of surfaces and textiles without chemicals, while ensuring safe re-entry into the room after one hour. Additionally, the EOLIS Air Manager effectively reduces the airborne spread of pathogenic microorganisms, such as viruses and bacteria, thanks to its unique combination of technologies:
- a biocidal pre-filter,
- a medical-grade HEPA H13 filter certified to EN1822-4,
- OSRAM PURITEC® HNS® germicidal UV-C lamps.
By purifying the air continuously, the EOLIS Air Manager also reduces the amount of contaminants deposited on surfaces, thereby limiting the risk of indirect transmission of viruses and bacteria via these surfaces and providing comprehensive protection.
Test conditions
- Tested device: EOLIS Air Manager 600S with activation of the active oxygen treatment (Mode 2 “Deep Clean”) at a controlled concentration during a one-hour cycle.
- Test conducted by EUROFINS Biotech-Germande laboratory, in compliance with the 17272: 2020 standard.
- The three contaminated surfaces were positioned with the opposite side facing the EOLIS Air Manager and were subjected to one hour of treatment in a 50 m³ laboratory room for the two viruses and a 30 m³ room for the bacterium.
